Ninja Cooker Experience?

Has anyone any experience baking bread in a Ninja Cooker?

My first question is whether it comes up to a satisfactory bread-baking temperature, say, 425 F.

It touts some steam-baking capability. I see two ways to do this. One would be to put some water in the inner pan. If you carefully measure the water, you could arrange it so that the water completely evaporates about mid-way through the bake.

Another would be to plug the vent hole in the lid with a screw, washer and nut, and use it like a Dutch oven, taking the lid off mid-way through the bake to release the trapped steam and baking dry for the rest of the bake, replacing the lid.

They are marketed to a large extent through TV infomercials. I don't know if anyone has used one to make bread successfully.

There are YouTube videos of people making cupcakes with one, but that's not the same as, say, artisan bread. From the size it looks like it could accomodate a boule or batard.

Hi Mixer,

After looking at the Ninja manual, all I see is a glorified crock pot with maybe a metal rather than crockery type cooking vessel. In my opinion, I would rather use a cast iron Lodge dutch oven and rely on my kitchen oven as my heat source.

Crock pots generally do not go up to very high temperatures, such as the 425 F you might use for baking bread. I'm looking at one crock pot that tops out at 180 F. You wouldn't bake bread at that temperature.

The Ninja Cooker claims to go up to 425 F. I'm interested in knowing if anyone has actual experience with one.

Not all crock pots have a build in heat source, they are used for cooking instead of metal cookware, now when someone says crock pot people think of the electric slow cooker. Thats why  said "Glorified". I don`t think that you will find anyone here with one, I think that most would buy a bread maker instead. If you do get one please report your results.

I may or may not get one, not sure.

If you get one post a review here. It is hard to tell where the heat unit is located in this device. If I didnt have a crockpot and an AMAZING  pressure cooker,  I might consider it, but my kitchen is crowded as is!

I think the heat comes from the bottom.
