Got my coffee.  I'd be more than happy to test one of those toast slices for them!

Fun  video.  Thanks!

Bread Deities . Josey Baker is my favorite.  $4 for a piece of toast is ridiculous but he makes fantastic whole grain bread with organic flour milled on site plus the toast is thick and has Nutella on it - when they don't make it wrong.... with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon instead :-). You can get the same thing here for free!  Way to go Josey Baker!

I love Josey Baker and The Mill.  His $4 toast is a million times better than a $2 pastry from Starbucks. BTW, it's homemade nutella and it's awesome. :)

I agree I would rather buy that quality toast than the frozen pastry most coffee shops sell at inflated prices.

Part of the fun is the experience of being there, amid the activity and friendly people. I stopped in last month while visiting my son and daughter in law. We tried a variety of toasts and toppings - I had the mountain rye with cream cheese and black pepper - oh, yum! Definitely worth a visit, if not becoming a 'regular'.

That rye is haunting me... I have Josey's book, so am thinking this weekend I need to try making it.

I think that I would buy the $4 toast much more readily than the $100 doughnut, even if they contain gold and diamonds.

make my own toast for 10 cents, use one of Josey's recipes to do so and imagine what it would be like to eat it at The Mill!  Donuts aren't good for you no matter what is in them.... which is why you have to cover them in chocolate and fill them with pastry cream and jam  to make them nutritious as well as delicious :<)

The difference between imagining life and living life?

I could pay $4 to Josey for a piece of taste if it didn't cost $1,000 to get there making the toast $1,004 so making his bread and imagining will have to do.  I'm not going to SF just to have toast any time soon.... unless Alzheimer's sets in more than it already has:-)

My wife and I are on our annual motorcycle trip, I rode to Denver, Colorado where she joined me and we have made it to San Francisco on our way to Vancouver and I felt like toast this morning so we went to The Mill.  The toast was very good and I have to applaud them for making something so simple so different from what is available elsewhere.  We chose menu item a and c, both where good.  Glad we made the effort to find The Mill.
