I'm going to Paris! (and Brussels and Bruges and Ghent)

I haven't been to Paris since 2001, well before I developed a passion for all things bread.  So, I'm looking for suggestions on which bakeries I absolutely must visit.  I'm there for 4 nights.

Bring it on!

PS.  Suggestions for same in Belgium are also very much welcomed.

Thanks,

Franc

Franc,  I live in Brussels and I would be glad to help you to know  some boulangeries which are good. Write me a message and we can speak of concrete things.

David is an American living in Paris. He has all sorts of apps available and lots of culinary information about Paris.

And he LOVES his breads!

When I visit Brussels, I invariably end up taking breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien at Rue Antoine Dansaertstraat 16A, 1000 Brussel, Belgium. My wife & i just love eating at the big communal table, with its range of various spreads, including various chocolates, Jams, Honey, and Preserves.

It's a superb relaxed atmosphere to sit and enjoy a "Le Panier du Boulanger, full of wonderful breads, with coffee or tea, whatever takes your fancy. You can always add a couple of boiled eggs if you wish or have Meat ,Cheese. Croissants, or Oatmeal, but for me the bread is the star

We always fight over the Hazelnut Flute, which looks like an old bit of twig, but is fantastic, studded with raisins and hazelnuts. Everything in the 'Panier' can be bought as a full sized version, from the counter on the way out.

The Breads, Pastries and Cakes look & taste the business, just what you would expect from an establishment like this.

There are several branches of this franchise in Brussels, and I have tried a few, but keep returning to this one, which in my opinion is the best of the lot.
