Hello - from a long time lurker in Manchester (UK)

Hello Everyone,

I've been reading and using the wonderful information on this site for about a year and it's just a fantastic resource for troubleshooting and inspiration. You've fixed a lot of reoccurring problems without even knowing it!

Recently things have improved significantly so I plucked up the courage to join to thank you all for improving my baking. The picture is a millet porridge bread from a few weeks ago which actually came out roughly as planned (lucky accident).

Millet crumb - scored straight

Happy Baking :)

Hello Jenny:  The bread looks wonderful, and the crumb is excellent. I have learned so much from this site as well. I just posted my recent bakes from the UK; my husband is from Liverpool, and we are over several times a year to see family and friends and just got back last night, so still jet-lagged. It's fun to compare my U.S. bakes (we live most of the time in California) to my UK ones.  On this trip, I brought over an Emile Henry covered baker, which I loved using on my UK bakes (they are a bit cheaper in the U.S. than the UK). My husband and his family are huge Liverpool fans (he went to Anfield for the Man City game when we were over), and their next big game is against Man U!  Huge game.

Keep posting your bakes.  All the best,  Phyllis
