Question about Melon bread

I have a question about the melon bread.

Doesn't the bread dough crack the cookie cover when it expands in baking?????????? or have I got this wrong. qahtan

Mine didn't crack.

My melon bread didn't really crack, but I think at least the sugary topping typically cracks. Take a look at some of the photos floating around.

Yes I noticed that, but the dough inside surely must expand, and with my luck it would all end up looking like a dogs dinner, :-))

what did you think of the bread, nice?, alright?, would you make it again. ??? qahtan

HE BETTER MAKE IT AGAIN! He made a whole batch and it didn't last 12 hours in this house! Even the littlest one gobbled it up and then spent the next hour searching the floor for crumbs! Those were so good!

One of F's coworkers tried it and put orange food coloring in the cookie dough, so they were like little pumpkins for Halloween! Of course, he forgot to take pictures :( Boo! But we'll have to remember that for future Halloween celebrations.
