Oatmeal dinner rolls

I made these for my son's kindergarden based on Hamelman's oatmeal bread recipe

I calculated the weights in the formula based on 1kg bread flour
and ended up with 60 rolls of 46 grams each :)

The kids don't like any grains and "dirt" on their bread, so I gave up oatmeal decoration and
just brushed them with butter after the bake

And don't mention the oatmeal.  They'll probably gobble them up if they don't get the idea that something "yucky" might be lurking inside.  I'd be happy to have a couple of the rolls right now!

I hate to even have to say this, but do check with the teacher to see if any of children have food allergies for any of the ingredients.  You may need some alternate treats for those kids.

You can't tell there are oatmeal inside, it is amazing how it dissolve inside the crumb 

no worries, no food allergies here :) 

My kid said none left

I love the absolute uniformity and how perfectly they fit into the boxes. Truly a professional effort and I bet they taste amazing. Congrats, nirli!

How did you get the uniform ones to fit so perfectly, did you manage to find boxes exactly the same size as your sheet pan?

No sheet pan here,

This was the nerd inside of me that did the math part :)

I just calculated: the box is 32x39cm - so 5:6 ratio is a good fit in this box
I calculated that with my total dough I can make 60 rolls of 45 grams
and I used my scale for each piece

But how did you know that a 5x6 matrix of 45 grams of dough would be exactly 32x39cm?! Sorry to harp on about this, but I'm more of a visual person, and this borders on witchcraft to me. ;-D

I took an educated guess :)

I already made these before. In my original recipe the final dough is about 2090 grams.
Last time I made them with variable sizes 45-90 grams each and I got around 30 rolls.
Since my son prefer the smaller ones - this time I increased the amount of all ingredients by 1/3
and expected to get about 2780 grams of dough, which are about 60 rolls of 46 grams.

I was going to make Amish Potato Rolls next time but will now have to add some oats in there somewhere after looking at these fine rolls:-)  Well done and

These look beautiful as well as delicious.

I am thinking you might like to give THESE a try.  My daughter's ballet class loved them.  They take time but are fun to make.  Mini peanut butter cups work well as the 'filling'.
