Hello from Qezon City, Philippines!

Hi everyone!  I'm new here and new to baking bread!  I've baked plenty of cookies and pies but I've never made bread.  I really hope to eventually learn how to make sourdough bread, because I absolutely love sourdough.

I'm really excited to try an bake some bread :)

You have found the right place to learn. This website has a wealth of good information on making bread.  Once you start making your own bread, you will be "hooked" but it is the best addiction ever...at least as long as you have family, friends and neighbors to help you eat what you bake.  : )

Hello! Astig talaga, na may tao sa forum na ito taga Pilipinas! I spent16 months in Laguna a couple years ago. I loved all the bakeries, I especially liked to buy spanish bread and pandecoco. And that cake with the custard on top, I forget what it's called. (Got a recipe? ;-) However, whenever I asked questions about recipes I found that most people didn't know much about making bread, because it was so much easier to just run down to the bakery and buy it.

Hi!  I hope you enjoyed your stay here in the Philippines :).  I just started baking so sadly I have no idea how to make Spanish bread or pandecoco.

It's true, most people here don't have any idea how to bake bread.  You can ask anyone for recipes for kakanin, rice cakes, but bread is a mystery.  Haha

I'm hoping to figure out my own version of Spanish Bread soon, since I have a bunch of bread crumbs from less successful loaves saved up. :-)

One of my favorite Filipino treats to make is Bibingka, kahit walang salted egg dito... may keso naman. Come to think of it, I still have some rice flour in the cupboard, maybe I'll make some this week.
