How to make a sourdough starter

Due to recent influx of sourdough starter questions and troubleshooting just thought i'd share this with you all. Came across this video on youtube and it's really nicely done. One of the best out there.

but, the comment that a whole rye starter limits the bread you can bake with it is wrong.  You can bake any bread with it  no worries.

I use whole rye starter and keep it as 100% whole rye. Depending on how much starter i'm using will depend on what I feed the pre-ferment. Just 10% then there's no need to change. If higher then I create it with the type of flour i'm using in the bread. That is the only thing I disagree with the video. He changes flours and does a mix when it can be made even simpler by keeping it 100% whole rye. Infact I think rye starter is very versatile.

Otherwise I think everyone can learn from this video when starting on their sourdough venture. Very well done! No mess, no fuss, no swimming pools of the stuff and even no talking just very easy instructions and you see every stage of what's happening.
