Try This Glaze for Sweet Breads Trick

I made couple loaves of Cinnamon Bread this week. Cold weather morning comfort food. I wanted a soft crust for snacking on it plain and untoasted. Instead of brushing the warm loaf with milk I grabbed the French Vanilla Coffee Creamer. Oh my! What a wonderful scent that added. There is a subtle sweetness as well. If used on sweet dinner rolls, sandwich rolls meant for ham or turkey, or the upcoming ever-popular Sweet Potato Rolls I think you'd find it to be an elusive alluring addition. As I said the flavor was very subtle, but the ratio of crust on a slice of cinnamon bread is very small and there is the powerful cinnamon profile. On a roll it might have more presence. The fragrance alone would elevate rolls.

Just wanted to throw this out there for consideration. Healthy? Unhealthy? Whatever. It's a tiny amount for an outstanding olfactory delight.

That sounds like a great idea! It's got to be healthier than brushing on melted butter to soften the crust, at least calorically speaking, and it's adding additional flavor.

Why not make your own healthy creamer?  A skinny one, if you so desire, and skip all those chemicals? They have always given me severe heartburn, although nothing else does!

1 can (14oz) Fat Free sweetened condensed milk

1 1/2 cup fat free milk (skim)

2 tsp vanilla extract

Those who want full fat - go for it!
