Oval dutch oven recommendations

Hi all

I've been using a Lodge Combo Cooker for the last few months and it's brilliant for assisting oven spring. However, the shape dictates that you can only cook boules.

Can anyone recommend a similar product to cook batards in? I've been looking at Le Cruset roasters but they're insanely expensive. Has anyone tried a cloche?

I'm based in the UK BTW.

I use the Le Creuset oval cast iron version in black matte satin as the say it distributes heat more evenly than the normal shiny enamel range.   You must get the metal knob/handle as the plastic will melt at bread bakin heat.  I'd recommend the Lakeland website in the UK as a good place to look for alternatives, their own cast iron range or the Dura range are much cheaper and I struggle to believe they don't do the job just as well.  Love my Le Creuset but they are expensive!  The downside with cast iron pots is that you have to be gentle lowering the bread into hem, a parchment sling does the trick but not as user friendly as the Lodge or the cloche.  I've used a Mason Cash DO as well, good results too and affordable!

his el Cheapo  turkey roaster.  You can check his blog and see the results for this pan that costs about $1 at Goodwill dollar Thursday'  I can't see how anything else would make better batards.

Some great suggestions - thanks all!

Isabel - sadly Sainsburys have discontinued their line which is a shame as it sounds perfect!

dabrownman - I've sent a message to Song of the Baker to see what he uses, but yeah, it just looks like a bog-standard turkey roaster!

Kiseger - I can't see anything big enough on the Lakeland website, but I'll look up Mason Cash.
