A course on Artisanal Bread Making

I am looking for a short course/program on bread making. I travel to USA several times a year, I am based at Longisland NY. Have friends where i have friends family in SFO, Dallas, have limited budget for it, so want to save on living. I would appreciate if someone identify a very good reputable and moderately priced program for me.

Thankyou for all your help

ICE (Institute of Culinary Education) in NYC has courses of varying lengths and depths of detail on a variety of topics in baking of all sorts.  Get on their mailing list and they'll send you a quarterly description of their courses.  I've taken a few and loved them.  They offer courses that range from many weeks to only four hours.  You might also check out the website of the San Francisco Baking Institute.  I know that they offer two baking courses, each a week long, that are taken sequentially, and that you'd love.  Not cheap though.

The San Fransisco Baking Institute has a beginning and advanced course, called Artisan I and Artisan II, respectively. I've  heard a lot of good feedback about from people like dmsyneder on this forum. Searching "SFBI Artisan" should give you reports from TFLers about the course.

Farah,

While in SFO or Dallas, check out https://www.sfbi.com for weekend courses, 5-day courses, and longer programs.

Check out dmsnyder's links who gives a thorough written and photo report of Artisan I course.

SFBI Artisan I workshop: Day 1

SFBI Artisan I workshop: Day 2

SFBI Artisan I workshop: Day 3

SFBI Artisan I workshop: Day 4

SFBI Artisan I workshop: Day 5

I will be taking Artisan I and II next month (October), and will be happy to share with you my experience!

If you will be based in NY, check out King Arthur Education Center in Norwich, VT. They offer courses in artisan bread baking as well!
