I just might be able to deal with the snow if those showed up in my kitchen :-)

Even in the "banana belt" of the UP, snow can come down this time of year.  (I used to park my car on a pile of snow in the NMU parking lot.)  Have you seen northern lights lately? (when it's not snowing)  Heard the UP was having a 4 shovel winter this year.   (that's the number of times the roof gets cleared)

Nothing like pastries, ipad and something warm to drink.

Thanks all, these were harder to make than I thought, but well worth the effort. They are fabulous right out of the oven, but not as good the next day, so they really need to be all eaten the first day. Friends? Come on over! Lol. Today it's a Peter Reinhart rye bread experiment that hasn't been going well. My Kitchen-Aid mixer is laboring, as it always does (it doesn't like bread dough) and I am hoping that this one doesn't kick the bucket as the other 5 have. Six KA mixers in 5 years is not a good track record!
