French pastries suppliers in the UK

Hello,

I'm Carmen, we've been living in France for ten years and we moved in the UK 2 weeks ago, we are not yet familiar with the places but I wish we will at the end of this month. Changes are somehow hard but the most difficult is changes in lifestyle, as far as foods are concerned, my children longed for French pastries however I do not know much about baking. What can I do? Are there any French pastries or confectionary products suppliers available in the UK?

Hi Carmen,
Of course, there are:  Belle epoque in Newton, for example, but it depends on the place you’re living. You can also ask your neighborhood, British people are friendly but if you are still shy you’d better tell your husband to make researches. I’ve been living in the UK for several months now and I often order  pastries at Delices & Goumandises when I don’t have time to go to a bakery shop but it's up to you.

Thanks a lot Lovely . You’re right, they are friendly and I already made friends within few days only. I didn’t really expect that there are ways to order pastries from France in the UK maybe I’m becoming older too… some of them recommended Delices & Gourmandises too but I’ll have to ask my husband before ordering.

Regards

That sounds really good Carmen, congratulations, it’s a big step. Last month I ordered that famous cake “Baba au rhum” at Delices & Gourmandises, I do not know if you like it but I highly recommend; it was well-packed and delicious!

Of course, I like it ! My mother used to make Baba au rhum when we were still living in France but as you know I don’t know much about baking. From first view, I love Delices & Gourmandises pastries selection but what about services?

Excellent service and perfect timing! The products arrived in perfect condition; I’m more than pleased. Yet, the products look exactly as they do online.

Hi Carmen,

I have ordered at Delices & Gourmandises now 5-6 times and the mailing service is impeccable. I appreciate the way they work on to keep us tracking throughout the process. The products were delivered in accordance with the deadline and the quality products is perfect.

My nephew ordered Delices & Gourmandises Waffles not long ago, they were fantastic! soft, fluffy, buttery and delicious. There are more items he is interested in trying but this one is the best I think, if wafles are often crunchy and dry , those of Delices & Gourmandises are perfect.

My experience with Delices and Gourmandises is very fine. You should try ! Even though i already had a little delivery problem, the after sales service is there and it is good.

Hi!

For sure, the United Kingdomn is a wonderful country, I was born here and I've been living in Birmingham for 20 years now. You don't have to worry because the more you stay here, the more you will get familiar with places. Buckingham palace and the london eye are among the best places to visit :) As far as food is concerned, you will discover English gastronomy which is as good as the French one.

I've already ordered items from Delices & Gourmandises, they were excellent. I recently ordered their waffles http://delicesandgourmandises.wordpress.com/2014/07/03/delices-gourmandises-best-kept-secret/
but you can also find other professional companies working on French food mail order in the UK such as Sarah Meade's for example, their Baba cake is gorgeous.

That sounds good Meliss, we do love the UK and we've got friends with whom we had dinner each friday. We discovered food varieties and French food here meet all our expectations. Yummy and worthy of presentation. I ordered items from Delices Gourmandises several times but I was never disappointed though I use to check on their blogs what new recipes they have shared on from time to time, this way I can make great savings too.

The same for me, there were times I couldn't order products from the company. The first thing I did was to check on their blogs if there are interesting recipes for me to save money and time. The last one I prepared was Chili Con Carne , it was quick and easy, an absolute hit.
