Baby Teething Biscuits

I wanted to share an idea that I have used very often with my toddler.  Whenever she is teething, which seems to be alot lately, I bake an extra loaf of bread just for her, that I then make into Teething Biscuits.  You can use any of your favorite basic bread recipes or quick breads, such as banana bread, just as long as there are no raisins, nuts or other "chunky" things in it.

To make teething biscuits, you basically follow the directions for making Biscotti breads.  Take your loaf of bread and cut it into 1 inch thick slices.  Cut each slice into3 or 4 "sticks" depending on the width of the bread slices.  Next, place the bread closely together on a baking sheet and bake at 250*F., turning the bread sticks a 1/4 turn every 15 minutes, until the bread sticks are dried & hard.  Usually this takes about 1 hour.  Let the bread sticks cool completely and store in an airtight container.  These will easily keep for a few weeks, though my daughter usually goes through them long before that.

 Enjoy!
