We've done it! Next time I'll prepare two cakes, because this one it's not for me. It's an order.
Are the oranges so soft that you can cut straight through them?
That's incredibly beautiful, like a work of art. Lucky customer!
I bake it at home. Some neighbours and friends are asking me to prepare cakes and bread for christmas, birthdays and parties. :-)
Yes, the slices are very thin, between 1 and 2 mm, ad you soak them in syrup until they are very tender so you can cut straight through them. I'll try to write the recipe tonight.
I love candied orange anything! This looks delicious and beautiful. I would like it even with candied lemon. Please could you share your recipe?
Dear friends, here's the recipe.
Have a nice baking day.
Abel Sierra, Barcelona.
This will make a lovely little Christmas cake.
It's easier than you think. When you bake it show me the result, please. :-)
It's a beautiful cake. Before I try it, please tell me this:
1.) Did it actually cut into pieces easily? Did you use a serrated blade to do the cutting?
2.) Will you please describe the cake pan in more detail? I'm wondering whether the bottom is somehow removable and what the exact height of the side is.
Yes, you can cut it in pieces easily. Think that oranges are candied in syrup, which is like glue, and then you bake them about one hour, so they are tender. Try to cut with a serrated blade.
The cake pan I use is 21 cm diameter and 6 cm high. I bought it in IKEA (about 5 euros, I remember).
