Practice, practice, practice. I know this is a hard answer because you were expecting something magical or a very expensive machine to do it, but that's it. Please ask me something easier next time.

That answer makes perfect sense. I'm sure your hands are more adept than any machine can be.

Do you use a version similar to Maggie Glezer's, where you first iron out pre-shaped rounds into a large, flat shape and then roll up that flat shape up tightly to form the strands?

I'll understand if your method is a patented secret.  Thanks!
