White Sourdough

A loaf of white sourdough, made with normal plain flour and my starter.

I was very satisfied with the opening of the cuts and the colour of the crust. One of the best loafes I got out of my oven so far.

Picture of the crumb: Good aeration, but still close enough to be able to spread butter on it ;)

Prout,

That is some seriously good-looking bread!  You got the grigne, the ears, the color, everything!  Well done.

Thank you very much! Sure got grigne and color, but I'm not sure if me bread got any ears...

What does ears mean? :p

Prout,

Ears are the up-turned edges of the slashes.  Since grigne translates to grin in English, it might make more sense to call them lips, no?

Love that crunchy crust. What did you use to slash the bread?         weavershouse
