Tiles for baking

I found your sitters inquiring about lead content in tiles. I read the post that followed it discussing baking bread. Does anyone know if there is a problem with heating a tile to act as a bread warmer in a basket?

Warm or cool, you still want to keep your food from coming into contact with items that contain lead.

A lead-free tile used as a bread warmer should work just fine.  You may want to experiment to see whether you get better results with the bread in direct contact with the tile, or with a layer of cloth between the bread and the tile.
