Submitted by Erithid on September 21, 2005 - 7:51pm. Microwave BreadHello! For my first entry I will talk about a recipie inspired from a show called Yakitate Japan. Yakitate Japan, which means "freshly baked Japan" where Ja-pan is a pun on the japanese word for bread "pan", is an anime about a young boy's journey to create a bread that culturally represents Japan. It is hysterical, tounge-in-cheek, and chock full of interesting bread ideas. On one episode they discussed a recipe for microwave bread. Since I don't speak japanese or cook in metric, I devised my own recipe using the same basic concepts. It is still a work in progress, but everyone should try it. It amazed me with how well it turns out. Ingrediants: Directions: For a real treat, follow steps 1-7, then fill with chocolate ganache. I make these for breakfast once a week or so. Let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions. Enjoy! ~Erithid

i really love this anime!
it was in the Monaco Cup when Kazuma Azuma made the microwave bread for the speed contest, but mr. Pierot (the judge) didn't want kazuma's bread (but actually it was very delicious) because he don't like microwave because of the story of his trainor, but one of the contestants of the U.S.A. which is spencer henely oko (shachioko) told pierot that it was only an urban legend, so mr. pierot passed Kazuma's bread. . that was the story of microwave bread.we have made many breads with my friend but it did'nt work, we are planning to mae Japan #2 (ricecooker bread) and the microwave bread.

iv mafe this bread several times already, it cpmes out nice and fluffy, my familly loves it.
what i do is add curry to the dough and while the dough is rising i fry popaptos with mushrooms and abit of curry, then after the dough has fully risen i fill the buns with potatos anc curry, comes out great.
this is a great base for any type of bun you can think of. i intend to even fill it with meat at some point.
thank you for this great recipe ^_~
