Hi, a new member from Seattle.  I love to make homemade breads,am trying to learn how to make artisan breads so that I don't end up paying 8 dollars for a loaf at Whole Foods.  I might be too unsophisticated for the group,as I find most artisan breads for sale at the store to have crusts so burnt and hard that they are inedible or they actually cut my mouth as I try to bite in and chew.  I have made some progress, my family can't bring themselves to eat commercial breads after mommy started making what the 3 year old calls "square bread".

Welcome from 2 hours away North!

I am jealous that you are so close to Pike Place Market.  If I lived there, I would balloon a few dozen lbs on Piroshky alone.

I have been a member of this site for only a few months now at most, and I have learned so much.  The members are very knowledgable and helpful.  Let me know if you need any advice and good luck on your bread journey!

Don't worry about being "too unsophisticated" for  the group.  Sounds like you are already on your way.

This is a great place to learn and ask questions. Anything you bake at home will be better than Whole Foods
