Hello from Rockford, IL USA
Thanks for allowing me to join this fine group. I've been "lurking" and learning for some time. The winter season is almost upon us in Northern Illinois, time to bake again. I don't like to run the oven and the air conditioning at the same time in the summer weather. An occassional bread machine loaf serves then. I need to try bread on the grill... Started with Artisan Bread in Five... then expanded from there. Haven't baked "a brick" in a long time, thanks to what I have learned reading here.
Best Regards,
John in Rockford

Hello, I just joined but have been lurking myself. Also learned alot here.
Don't have a bread machine. Do you like it or love it?
Bread machine... I would have to say I don't love it, but the bread it makes beats store bought hands down. Mostly I do recipes from "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day" and 'Bread in Half the Time", two quite different approaches to good bread. Also recently tried the Whole Wheat from the current season of America's Test Kitchen on PBS. That was a real surprise. Nicely risen whole wheat loaves with good texture and nice crust.
Have fun!
