Grandma Maudie's Banana Bread
This simple but tasty banana bread recipe is from Grandma Maudie's used here with permission.
2 cup sugar
½ cup butter
2 eggs
3 cup flour
1 ½ tsp soda
¾ cup sour milk
3-4 ripe bananas
½ cup nuts (optional)
¼ tsp salt
Mix ingredients in order given. Bake in two greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 for one hour.
I'll try to add a pic later. By the way Grandma Maudie's Cookbook can be purchased at Amazon.com. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Grandma-Maudies-Cookbook-Collection-ebook/dp/B0083CNP68/
If you get the cookbook, try the Sugar Plum Raisin Squares. They are so awesome!
Thanks for sharing your recipe. This recipe has the proportions of a muffin, very interesting indeed. The butter is low and the egg level is low. Given that, do you bake for exactly one hour, it would seem the one hour would make the banana bread dry. Is the taste considerably different than conventional banana bread recipes
