Loaf pans?
I'm very excited - I just got my first ever grain mill - a Country Living mill! I can't wait to start making fantastic breads for my family. I would like to make sandwich breads that we could use in place of store bought breads.
What type of loaf pan would everyone suggest in order to get a loaf that is about the same height, etc. of store bought bread for sandwiches?
Thanks in advance!

Hands down from 15 years of buying loaf pans...USA Pan 10x5 2lb pan...made in USA and non stick...beautiful results..Good Luck!!
Is that a Pullman Pan fotomat1?? And where do you get them??

Amazon sells the entire line of the USA Pans. They are more expensive than Mirro aluminum pans but much sturdier, and as already commented upon, made in the USA.
Cutlery and More online...free shipping over $49...the pan I mentioned is not a pullman but they have a great one that I purchased from them
same manufacturer 13x4x4...awesome as well.
Congratulations on getting a Country Living grain mill, Jack Jenkins (manufacturer) is an amazing and very, very sweet man. He's been very supportive of GoodFood World and we've written a number of pieces about him: http://www.goodfoodworld.com/?s=jack+jenkins&submit.x=4&submit.y=11 The Country Living mill is made here in Washington and is part of a wonderful local economy supporting businesses across the state.
I need to add my thanks to all the members of The Fresh Loaf who have taught me so much about bread baking
I have found the best pans are the ones I already own. Here are some suggestions for what you might find:
Take a look at any Corning Ware casserole pans. I have found our favorite is a rectangular 1 1/2 qt like this:
I was looking for a pan that would mimic the wide-pan oval breads like Brownberry makes. It is perfect and not such a large loaf as to be stale before it is finished. Casseroles are also deeper so you don't get "shoulders" on a loaf. I never like them as they always fell apart.
If you want a larger loaf- try a rectangular angel food pan.
I usually use this when I do a recipe for 2 loaves and just put them in one pan. Again it is deep so there are no shoulders and I like this shape for sandwiches and toast.
I had both of these in my cupboard or you can usually get them cheap at a Goodwill type store. My standard "release" is to mix a little vegetable oil with some liquid soy lecithin (from the Health food store- a thick liquid) and brush this mix inside any pan. Sprinkle with oats or corn meal and I never have a problem with loaves coming out.
