Storing Flour--best methods.

All,

We normally store flour in smaller rubbermaid bins for what we are working with actively and then are stuck with the bags to stash somewhere for what we don't use immediately.  We go through AP flour and regular sugar relatively quickly (I wish Costco sold cake flour) but with the new purchases of 50# of high gluten flour and 50# of bread flour and our beloved 2 collies I'm a bit concerned over what i see as Christmas in August coming soon.  We're in Alexandria VA, any thoughts on where to get good sealing containers as i'm starting to look at the moth free dog food bins that are pretty air tight but are rather big.

is this the best thing to use, buckets with gamma lids which is essentially what we do with the dogs food (only we spent a LOT more) http://store.honeyvillegrain.com/gammalid-white.aspx

Yep, exactly what I use too. I get them for less than above at a local emergency supply company: 6gal food grade bucket + gamma lid for less than $14 each.

I repackage mine in gallon size freezer ziplocs, then store those in a rubbermaid tote.  I reuse the ziplocs, too.
