New here exploring the DIY bread baking adventures in Finland

Hi there,

I found this site months ago but only today started to sign up because my breads have some issues... I'm a 26y old from the Netherlands originally but living in quiet, dark and beautiful Finland. I've been baking breads for about 1,5 years now. Mostly local recipes or Dutch original recipes for Sugar breads, christmas "stolls" breads, raisin breads and other sweet breads. Lately we decided to cut some costs on the bread purchasing (with 3EUR/3.6USD a freshly baked loaf at the grocery store) and started baking regular loafs (with less success) ourselves. Recently I also got the old 1lbs/1.5lbs Inventum Bread baking machine that was laying around at my parents storage closet. Still trying to wrap my head around the correct composition of ingredients for tasty, airy and healthy bread and the right way to wing it with the little time at hand.

This forum is an awesome resource of skilled and motivated baking enthusiasts and I'm happy to be able to absorb it as much as possible and maybe even give back once i managed to resolve my current bread baking issues.

Best regards,

trojkolka

I find that home baked always tastes better than "store bought."  Even the failures taste better.

Welcome and good luck with your baking.  We are here for you.
