So I figured since I've been on this site awhile, I would share my results. I baked this loaf of Tartine's basic country a few weeks ago. Followed the formula pretty much to a T.
That's a very good looking Tartine loaf! Makes me hungry :)
is a joy forever, or at least until it's eaten. Your bread looks great. It makes me question yet again, my decision to skip Tartine. And really lovely photographs - particularly the first. Glad you decided to post. -Varda
Your Tartine is perfect. Beautiful crust and crumb.
Your loaf looks fantastic, you should be proud.
I'm curious - did you bake it in a rectangular lidded pot? How did you get that shape?
What a lovely loaf! I think I am gonna get this book very soon too. I begin to see beautiful "Tartine" breads everywhere.
All the best!
Very nice bake. Your crumb looks perfect as well as your crust.
Thanks for the kind words. I highly recommend this bread, it is very straight foward and the results are fantastic. To Sjadad, I baked this on a stone, it's just the way I shaped it.
TFJ in some time. It is better than very nice - its nearly perfect. Make me want to test out the new DO but don't know how I would get a stone in it :-) Love your bread PB.
Scoring, ears, open crumb- you've got it all! Wonderful loaf.
Welcome to TFL. Great looking BCB. I have some fermenting right now.
