bread baskets
Can anyone tell me if it is worth buying the bread baskets you get for putting your dough into prior to baking it?

You don't have to buy them until YOU feel the need. You can use a colander and a dish cloth dusted with flour or rice flour. You can use just a mixing bowl instead of the colander.

I use colanders, bowels and other vessels of different sized and shapes lined with lint free cloth dusted with bran or rice flour. But, for sure using Bannetons are definitely good for consistent results in regards to shape, also it adds nice patterns on the surface of the baked bread.

for proofing your bread even soup bowel. But you wouldn't have the distintive sort of patterns and imprint that Bannetons leave on your bread as an added value!!!
