Ian's Whole Wheat Bread

Well, I gave Ian's recent whole wheat bread a go and it turned out quite nice.  A bit denser than I expected, but still, a great loaf of bread. It makes for great toast, and sliced real thin it made of an excellent sandwich.  The loaf reminded me of a hearty German bread.  I'll try it with cheese for this evenings happytizers.  I'd not used spelt flour before and I was impressed with it's flavor, aroma and  texture.  I don't have an official banneton, so when I'm making a boule I use a strainer and usually when making batards, I use a towel and make valleys.  I planned on making just one loaf and went through the house looking for a good banneton for this loaf.  I wound up in the garage and came across my drywall mud tray and bingo, problem solved.  Albeit a bit unconventional, but it worked like a charm!!  Thanks Ian for the great recipe!  ~ Russ  PS: I hope the pictures up loaded okay???

No idea how to post pictures.  I read the FAQ section and  tried it from a web site with no luck and then via storing the pictures on The Fresh Loaf.  I can see the files after uploading them, but when I choose "insert file", nothing happens.  Suggestions?

upload - on that same screen toolbar you hit insert.  Then another screen will pop up (it may be under the one you are looking at and hiding) and you have to hit insert again on that screen too.  Then the picture should appear where your cursor is on the comment, blog or forum screen.

Hope this helps

That did the trick!!! You were right, that second window was behind the open window.  I guess I should have guessed that when I "x"ed out of the page and that second insert window was there.  Oh well.  Many thanks.  Pics are up!

Great looking wholewheat you baked, Russ! I had thought for an instance that the red thing was a deep exotic nonstick pan!
