Stuffed mushrooms en croute - with a bread dough - both with cheese and vegan

Hi folks

Thought I'd share my dinner recipe for this evening.

I'm very into using a bread dough instead of pastry at every opportunity. Stuffed mushrooms wrapped in an enriched pizza dough being a particular favourite of mine.

I made three, had one for dinner and earmarked one for the next weekend (that actually made it to the freezer) and one for lunch tomorrow. I'm ashamed to say I had a nibble of the other one - and 10 minutes later it had all gone! Now it's me who feels stuffed!

It's hard to know where it fits into the lexicon of breadmaking. On the one hand it's a bread parcel - much like a calzone or a mushroom Wellington. On the other it can be likened to a covered bread bowl, with the filling inside, or a covered trencher, again with filling and crust cooked together.

I'd be interested in hearing of any other suggestions to stuff the mushrooms with.

(...with which to stuff the mushrooms.??)

Cheers, Paul

I've never actually made a parcel for baking, but this has prompted me to do so later this week.  I rarely use butter (so no pastry ingredients), but bread sounds like a good alternative.
