Bulk Baking Ingredients
I'm looking to buy baking ingredients wholesale or in bulk for my bakery that I am opening and am having a heck of a time finding a place to buy them at. I'm fine with picking them up myself - in fact I'd almost prefer it. I love to know any place in the northern east coast. I'm think either MD, PA, CT, NH, MA. Anywhere in between is okay too. Please help!

Well, I don't know how large your bakery will be, or how much you will use, but, I buy about 300-400 lbs flour a year at Costco. I bake all my own rolls/breads/pies/cakes, etc.. b/c my son has some issues. i bake about EOD.
They seem to be well-represented in the areas you mention. I don't think Gordon Food Services goes that far east.
You might also look into Dawn Food Products.
Or look under the Bakery Supplies heading in your yellow pages. Or use the same search term in Google.

Costco may be an idea. I hadn't tried there.
Paul, I've been searching on google for a while and everytime I find a place they only seem to see speciality supplies (rather than general supplies like all-purpose flour and sugar) or they are a baking supplies store (no ingredients - sell pots and pans and what-not). I did find two places: http://www.aaoobfoods.com/bulkfoods.htm and honeyville. Honeyville is way out of my price range and the first webpage is good but I simply wanted more to compare it to. I also would prefer (though I know this is probably more known by people from the specific area I'm looking at) a place like this: http://www.grruhl.com/products.html - These guys are right around the corner from where I currently live. If I stay in MD, I'd definitely use them. I love the fact that I can just walk in.
I'll check out the places you mentioned. Thanks for the input! If anyone else has more I can compare to, I'd appreciate it!
If there are specific products that you are interested in (KAF, Wheat Montana, etc.), you might also want to go to the producers' web sites and see if they list distributors in your area. It's kind of a back-door approach but might net some leads for you.

You need to take in your business liscense to buy there. But they are VERY relaxed about it. I own a Print Shop and was able to get a Free membership there. :-)
A lot of folks like buying bulk from Bread Beckers http://www.breadbeckers.com/
You join a co-op and they have one in Massachusetts which might work for you.
I like them becuase of the assortment of whole grains I can get there as well as honey and other things.
