Bosch Compact
Is the Bosch Compact big enough to handle the recipes from the Bread Bible or the Breadakers Apprentice? I would like to get one but will go for the Universal if needed. The recipes from the Bread Bakers Apprentice say they make 2 big or 4 small loaves for some of them. I would like something sufficient to make at least 2 loaves for my family.
Thanks,
John

Meant to say Bread Bakers Apprentice.
Thanks,
John
The specs at pleasant hill show 6 lbs of dough. (That should be a link to click on)
I like mine very much although I don't use it for that big of a batch. I would be cautious if that was 6 lb of bagel dough, but I have never had any indication that mine was working very hard. It is so efficient at developing the gluten that I run it mostly on the lowest speed with a brief run up to the second lowest.

Though I have a DLX, I usually use my compact and I use the recipes from both books, a lot. In fact, I use the DLX so seldom, since getting the compact, that I have contemplated selling it. It can handle 2 loaves with no sweat. Terry R.
Hi John,
My Bosh Compact has easily mixed 4.6 pounds of AP.
As Wayne has noted, its a very efficient little machine. Small footprint, light weight, but a true workhorse.
Should easily meet your needs, and then some.
