Recommendation: Inside the Jewish Bakery - Sweet and Rich Challah

I was one of the many testers for this book that came from TFL.  I was very happy with the recipes that I got to test, most were new to me.

I am now working on my ITJB ToBakeList.  This was my first from the book.  Let me encourage all of you to try this recipe!  It is great, it made two wonderful loaves.  It went together very easily.  My wife did the braiding (High Four Strand).  The look as they came from the oven was stunning.  I held the family at bay for 15 minutes to let it cool (needless to say I was not popular during that time).  We sliced one of the loaves and put butter on it.  Excellent favor, I love the texture of Challah.  I can not image a better Challah, however I will try the others in the book just to see what the variations of this bread are like.   Pleas give this one a try.

By the way: Norm and Stan - Thank You for putting together this great book.

Did you by chance get a crumb shot? My favorite challahs are sweet and rich (not like I understand them to be in Israel). Havn't gotten the book yet, but am planning to do so.

about 1/2 hour ago I was reading all the emails from people who have the book (me included) are waiting for it or are going to buy it and there was a lot of information regarding substitutions for shortening vs butter and how to adjust and now that I am trying to find it again,  I am unable to do so.  Can someone out there please direct me to the right page?  thanks very so much.

The errata listing will fill you in on corrections to the formulas in the book.  There has also been some discussion about substitutions and such, and you will find a lot of that in the original book release thread here.
