Hello from Montreal

Hi everybody,

My name is JS and I reside in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

It all started with pizza.  I wanted to try out making pizza dough, just for fun, earlier this year as I had some buddies over for an evening.

Stumbled on TFL and got all the info I needed for a basic recipe.  Tried it out...and never ordered delivery pizza again.

A bit later, wanted to try out a simple bread just for fun.

Went back to TFL and got all the info I needed for a basic recipe.  Tried it out...  Was good but wanted to know more so I can have a better crunchy crust and a more bubbly crumb.

Went back to TFL and got all the info I needed to understand the variables I could play with and some good book references. Bought the book (Hamelman's), tried out recipies.  

Again back to TFL to understand my mistakes and get ideas for variations...

Thanks to TFL and its vibrant and generous bread lovers community, what started as a "just for fun" try out became a weekly hobby that I enjoy very much and is also much appreciated by my wife and kids!

If your pizza/baking is better than what you can buy in a Montreal bakery, than you must be one heck of a baker.  Welcome!

...I enjoy the process of making dough very much.  Can't rush things.  Something Zen about it I guess.

Fairly easy to find very good bread around here, just can't compete!
