INSIDE THE JEWISH BAKERY - Advance Purchase and lots more good stuff

hi all,

Just thought you might like to know that we'll be getting copies of INSIDE THE JEWISH BAKERY as soon as they're available from the printer, and we're accepting orders now via the NYBakers website.

I know a lot of you have expressed interest in getting the book, and this is a great way to do it.

Also, we've added a lot of new material to the website in the Resources section (click here), notably about 30,000 words worth of background material that the publisher had us cut out of the book in order to keep it to a manageable size (as it is, the book runs about 336 pages). We've also included a revised index that we couldn't get to the printer on time because of a tight publishing schedule. Among other things, it should give a pretty good idea of the kind of material you'll find in the book.

I feel like it's been a very long journey and that so many TFLers have been our traveling companions throughout. Consider the book as much yours as ours, and thank you.

Stan & Norm

PS: To all our testers - you'll be getting an email from us in the next few days.

Looking forward to receiving it.  I would like to say that I have ordered several items from NYBakers and I am totally satisfied with their products, their service, and their overall attitude.  It's a pleasure doing business with you!  Keep up the good work!

Add the "buy now" button which appears at the bottom of this page to the top of home page at nybakers.com, above the graphic. Also add it to the top of this page. This way people who may be in a hurry or on the fence about whether they want to prepurchase will be more likely hit that "buy now" button and close the sale for you.

I'm an avid fan of this site based in large part on yours and Norm's amazing contributions here. I know a lot of TFL readers will, like me, want this book.

Best of luck!

Ordered mine can't wait.  Suggestion: After completing the order process with PayPal to be automatically returned to the NY Bakers website.

Any plan for publishing this in UK in near future?

but I think that if there's enough demand, he can certainly find a distributor. I'll mention it to him.

I hope so. Looking forward to it. Bought "Secrets of a Jewish Baker" a few years ago, but sold it almost immediately. I think it was published before the artisan bread movement got going and lots of the recipes were, shall we say, wanting.

hi Thomas,

All of the recipes are given in at least 3 ways - volume, ounces and grams - and most of them also include baker's percentage. Plus, you can also find a ingredient weight conversion table here.

I expect you'll find the book considerably more useful than "Secrets."

Got it, thanks for using Pay Pal it's such a good and easy way to transfer money all over the world when you are so far away from every thing !

I'm sure I will find in this book all the recipes my mother and grandmother used and learn many others as well as some folklore I'm not aware.

Thanks Stan and Norm I appreciate your work from the bottom of my heart.

That is how I feel about the book (ordered!). It was so interesting to follow the process from before the start to finish! I feel like I witnessed a historic event and wish you great success.

Thank you!
