if you wish to do this yourself, first you have to keep it within the guidelines for the max photo pixel dimensions as stated when you go to the uplaod field. They say 256x256 is the max.
so load that into your photo editor, and reduce the size to 256x256, by either scaling and/or cropping it down to size. I'd also use one of the editing tools to remove the little bit on the left,
of that image. Then u can upload it. Hope that helps.
