Large proofing Basket source?

Does anyone know of a source for large proofing baskets? I'm liking the 2- 2.5 Kilo (5.3 lbs) size but they are too large for the large ones I get from SFBI.  I've looked around on the net and don't see anything yet.

If you use linen inside the basket, Eric, perhaps this one I found at Etsy might do.  It's large, but the handles might get in the way (until cut off).

On the other hand, you may find something that will work in the crafts department of your local stores.

Lindy,

I just discovered that the baskets I have are the small and medium models that SFBI offer. I had been looking at my 10 inch basket thinking it looked like 12. I only have about 20 measuring tapes and rulers around the house lol. So I have just called SFBI to order the 12 inch baskets.

all manner of baskets. Doun't worry about where they have been, just wash them and rinse them and let the dry. They are woven wet and then allowed to dry.

Hi

You could give these guys a go? It costs a little bit to get the baskets shipped but they are good quality and cheaper than any I can find for sale in the UK.

Thanks breadmonkey,

I did purchase 2-12 inch baskets from SFBI that arrived last week. They are just what I was looking for.

The compressed wood baskets that they are making in Germany are interesting looking. They have been making them a long time that way it seems. I've never seen one made from compressed fiber in the US. It might be fun to try a couple sizes just to see how they work.
