Any unique bread recipes out there? whether its unusual techniques,or ingredients you wouldn't normally use?
I made a cheese, and prune, and ham loaf last week,,,,, nice, different but nice..
It should have been bacon, cheese and prune..
You'll get a thread or two about a bread featuring whole garlic clovers. Lots of them.
I've done that, 2 bunches of Whole garlic cloves and 4 medium branches worth of fresh rosemary added to a basic French bread, plus a little extra yeast in case that yeast doesn't like garlic or rosemary.
It turned out well and disappeared quickly at the potluck I brought it to.
because it is just out of the oven, but this morning I baked Dan Lepard's Peanut Chilli Bread, and purely on the basis that I've never tried a bread of his that I didn't like, I'd have to say that it is going to be good. Contains tahini and cumin in addition!
Is the recipe on the Guardian site????
I have to say I've also never made a recipe from him that was not outstanding - this one seems pretty strange, but, with his name to back it up, I would give it a try.
if you could point me to the recipe, I'd appreciate it
It is, right here. The bread turned out to be really good. We ate it mostly with a friend's baba ganoush. Yum.
Hope you enjoy it Sally.
Will report back once I make it....
