Buenas from Costa Rica
Buenas! I relocated to Costa Rica a year ago and have been searching for good bread ever since. I have not had any luck. Recently, I saw an episode of No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain where he briefly showed artisanal breads in Portland, Oregon. After I finished salivating over the brown crispy crust and white moist middle a lightbulb went off in my head.........I can make my own bread!
I have managed to recreate so many of the other foods I miss from Vietnamese Pho to meatball subs. So why not breads? Obviously, recreating a rustic french bread is much tougher than a sub but I am in it to bake it! I look forward to learning and I realize I have LOTS to learn.
At the moment I am looking for a good starting recipe, book recommendations and the eventually a hands on course.
