Ceramic Grill

The cat's meow ?  I saw this awsome ceramic grill at Lowe's today. Talk about being able to bake with steam outdoors ! The inside was unglazed clay and offers many ways of cooking, steaming, baking, grilling, roasting and all with charcoal.  The link here shows it from another vendor:

Oh, this one might just go on my Christmas list !

This looks like a copy of the BIG GREEN EGG (check biggreenegg.com).  They are wonderful.  They grill and are excellent smokers and often used in serious competitions.  The BGE is more expensive though.  There is another like it, I think it is kamado grill.  You might want to look that up too as that one has been around for years.

It would make a great Xmas present.  I got a BGE 3 years ago when we moved after I retired.  Best ribs ever!!!!!

I have been told that it is wonderful for baking.  Many people at the Big Green Egg Fests had samples of what they had baked in the EGG and they were excellent - baked up moist and very easy to control the temperature once you get the hang of it.  It will retain the heat at a steady temperature when you get the temp that you want.  It doesn't cycle on and off like the normal home oven.

I think that the best place to find any info that you want is on the big green egg site, which is, of course, http://www.biggreenegg.com/

There are also forums that will get you any info that you need.  That would hold true for any of the  "knock-offs".  I don't know if they all have the same quality as the BGE which is somewhat more expensive.

it would be great especially in the summer !  I went over to the big green egg, yes they are much more.  Lowes had the other one with the cart, two grill drop ins, the shelves and the water pan for $699
