Help, my La Cloche cracked for the 2nd time-never again any suggestions?
My La Cloche cracked again. I am done with these. Any suggestions what I can use in place of it. It was the only bread I ever baked that came close to the old wood ovens that great gramma use to bake in. Will a cast iron dutch oven produce the same results? I have been trying for years to duplicate grammas bread. They are all deceased now and do not have a recipe. It was very hard on the outside and large holes on the inside. The only thing that worked was the La Cloche that came very close to her bread. It was not sourdough and I'm sure they did not have yeast packets back then.
