Fabulous Flickr Changes! Not

Hi,

It seems as if flickr are bragging about their "bigger, faster, more" photo upload page.

Well, I'm trying to post a new blog entry, and having great difficulty loading photos from flickr to the blog entry using the "grab url" tool.

Do I now have to upload these photos in a smaller size first, as I don't seem to be able to edit to a small size on flickr and then paste these into the blog entry?

Can any photo expert advise me out there please?

Many thanks in anticipation

Andy

Hi Andy,

I've never had much luck with Flickr so now I use Googles Picasa.  Using it with the Firefox browser , it's a right click on the photo you want to insert, select 'copy image location' then go to the TFL 'insert/edit image' box and paste it in the 'image URL' space as you would normally. I tried this with IE 8 but nothing came on the right click context menu allowing me to 'save target as'.

Good luck

I refuse to even visit Flickr - too intrusive.

Picasa is good, as is Photobucket, which has some nice editing/border etc. options.

Hi Andy,

I am a newcomer to Flickr as of today. What worked for me was to go to the main photo page for the particular photo and under "Share this", choose "Grab the HTML/BBCode".  Choose the desired picture size and choose the "BBCode". Copy and paste that code DIRECTLY into the rich text editor and the photo should show up. Hope this helps.

Hi Jessica,

Thanks for your advice on this, it is much appreciated.   Don't know if you saw my recent post: http://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/19167/anotolika-beach-house ?

Thanks to Floyd, I used the HTML method to paste the filepath directly into the programme of the text.   This worked just fine for me.   Glad to hear you worked out a similar way with the BB code.

Thanks again

Andy

Hi Andy,

I did eventually see your other post later. What's funny is that I first tried using the HTML method and it didn't work for me, so that's how I ended up with the BB code. It's nice to know that it should work and i'll try and troubleshoot it later.

Thanks for letting me know.

Jessica
