Double Dip Red Wine Taralli

A lightly sweet taralli, made with a full-bodied red wine such as Cabernet, Merlot, Barolo, Zinfandel, and Primativo etc. Perfect for a wine tasting party.

Patricia, you really have the most interesting recipes! I baked Red Wine Cake, but never any cookies.

I haven't done the Sfogliatelle, yet, but I already bought some lard - a hard to come by ingredient in my area. I want to fill them with a lemon cream, though, like I had them in Amalfi.

Karin,

I congradulate you in attempting Sfogliatelle. I have made them only once as they are a little bit of a challenge.  I would love to know how yours turned out. Even in the recipe it claims that they are hard to prepare and the results are not the same as when you buy them. I have to say this is true, you can't really get the nice think layers as when you buy them. But they tasted great and it was fun giving this pastry a try at least once.

The red wine taralli are my aunts recipe and we make them all the time. Their taste really comes out when you dip them in red wine. A warning! they don't last a day in my house.

Good Luck,

Patricia
