Rustic Bread from Peter Reinhart's ABED book
Hi all,
Just want to share a picture of a Rustic Loaf I made yesterday, based on Peter Reinhart's "Artisan Bread Every Day" (ABED) book. The book is fantastic and easy to follow - great for beginners like me. Hope you like the picture of the loaf. If anyone has any comments / goood advice, do drop a line!

its a good buy also tried this bread and it went down a treat.
Hi all,
Yes, I hesitated to purchase the ABED book at first, as I've had my share of bread baking books and bread failures in the past. I was wondering if I really need another one to add to my shelf collection. But I have absolutely no regrets ever since I've tried the first recipe. The book is more comprehensive than many others, explaining the whys and what's not, that beginers like me find extremely knowledgable. It has helped me understand a lot more of bread making, thus avoiding many of the common mistakes I tend to make in the past. Of course, in the midst of practicing and learning, a great forum like 'The Fresh Loaf' adds tremendous value to my bread baking journey. This is truly a place where bread enthusiasts can come together not just to learn, but to share and find joy in what they love in this common quest for good bread...
So, I highly recommend the book. My next purchase will be 'Bread' by Jeffrey Hamelman!
Cheers,
Sue
