I'm considering purchasing an electric food (bread) slicer. I welcome any opinions and/or preferences that might be helpful making a selection.
I have no dogs in this fight, but I thought you might find a recent post I made of interest to you...
Hope this helps,

ABsolutely love my ChefsChoice 610. I chose it because it slices thicker pieces than 1 1/2 inches and paperfine meats with the extra blade. Super easy to clean as well.
I am thinking of purchasing the chef's choice slicer, but had a few questions. Would it be practical for someone who slices 50 loaves a week? Is it a pain reassembling the slices into a loaf to package the bread? Is there a big difference between the serrated and smooth blades?
Are there any other options you know of besides electric knives and the thousand dollar machines?
Thanks for your input
I also have the Chef's Choice slicer, but it sounds like you want something much more efficient. Doing 50 loaves one slice at a time is quite burdensome, and the variety of shapes suitable for slicing on the Chef's Choice is somewhat limited.
I intend to place a single loaf on the platform and slice throug the entire bread.
I've been very happy with my slicer. It slices a loaf of bread faster than I thought it would.. But in reality, I really don't need to preslice, since it does such a great job so I just slice when I need to...
I simply just dust the crumbs away and put my towel over the slicer till needed later. I love my slicer.
