Love this cake - have made it twice in a week and will be making it again soon. I did use almond paste (1 cup) that I mixed with 1/2 cup of Panko crumbs, an egg and 2 tbls. sugar to extend and soften it. I put about 1/2 tsp. in each dimple and then put 1/2 tsp. butter on top of the almond paste and pressed down again. My almond paste is pure, making it stiff and I get it from back East. The paste from the store is usually softer so wouldn't have to adjust it. Thanks for the recipe.
