Pillsbury has their main offices in Minneapolis and also their milling facilities, if I'm not mistaken. Is there a store there to buy their flour products? I can't seem to find any info online.
I was just in a bread baking class this past weekend in Mpls. When talking about flours I believe the instructor said Pillsbury had been bought out by General Mills but not to use their flours because the are not of good quality. Not too much help.
I use either Pillsbury or Gold Medal AP,non-bleached flour or bread flour and have great loaves of bread. The instructor may need higher or lower protein flour for some of the artisinal bread but I just compensate by substituting some pastry flour for those loaves.
My question remains- is there an outlet store at Pillsbury/General Mills in Minneapolis or nearby where I can buy flour products in larger bags for cheap?Or grains?
