Freezing the Starter Mother

I've dried and frozen some dried starter as a back up that I have.  My question is, has anyone ever froze the whole Mother in it's container?  I'm going to be gone for close to a month and I don't have anyone here to feed my 2 starter.

Convert them to stiff starters

I find a good, healthy stiff starter can withstand a month in the fridge without a problem. I use mine about that often, and it's just fine.

Be sure to give yourself some backup in the form of some dried starter and some frozen, just in case.  But I wouldn't freeze the entire thing.

Dried Starter

Again, here I stand with my hat in hand and my ignorance hanging out.....how does one DRY their starter?? And does it have to be dried to freeze?? How much etc......

THANK YOU
