20 qt dough mixer
Good deal, or not?
I'm planning on offering $400 for the mixer in the classified ad. It comes with a dough hook and two 20 quart mixing bowls.
It appears to be 15-20 years old to me.

If it works, if you have space for it, and if you can move it. I don't think it is a Hobart, but the Hobart in that size weighs a couple hundred pounds and takes up lots of room.
Is it 110 or 220?
It's 110, I confirmed it via email earlier.
I paid $1000 for a new 10 qt commercial countertop mixer, $400 for a 20 qt plus the extra bowl is an excellent deal. Make sure you have the floor space and that it's not too heavy to move or for your floor to support. it's going to be big, heavy and possibly noisy.
Sounds like your mixer is a Hobart. My 20 quart mixer is and it weighs 95 lbs. Must stop mixer before changing gears as mine has no clutch. Gears could be stripped otherwise. Hobart has a chart that has the amts it can process without harming the machine.

If it is a Hobart all the Kitchen aid accessories will fit. That is if they are older accessories made when Hobart made Kitchen Aid. When I bought a new Kitchen Aid and tried to use the old accessories that I used on my Hobart it burned the KA out. KA replaced my mixer and I had a tough time finding out that happened when the accessories obviously fit the machine. I did tell them that I would continue to use the accessories on the KA and was not worried about it burning up because I knew they would replace it. They found out in a hurry. The accessories fit but not exactly. From that I would think that new accessories on old machine might cause some problem not obvious.
