Submitted by colinwhipple on September 29, 2009 - 6:28pm Herbes de Provence BreadI am looking a two different recipes for Herbes de Provence bread. One calls for 1 Tbsp of herbes to go with 1 cup of water and 2 1/2 cups of flour. It also calls for 1/4 cup olive oil, salt, yeast, etc. The other calls for 1/2 cup of herbes to go with 1 1/4 cup water and 3 cups of flour. It also calls for 1/4 cup liqueur, salt, and yeast. That is quite a difference. I am inclined to try 2 Tbsp of herbes with the first recipe. 1/2 cup seems like a LOT. Any opinions? Colin

Maybe fresh vs dried?
My only guess is that the one calling for 1/2 cup could be for fresh herbs? 1/2 cup of dried herbs would really be a heck of a lot!

Result w/2Tbsp
I used two tablespoons and my wife liked the bread a lot.
