Submitted by Calcipher on September 15, 2009 - 11:28am Searching for a few bread recipesHi, I'm new to this community and I very much hope that I'm not either posting in the wrong area or that requesting recipes is nto something one should do. I've been looking for qutie some time for a couple of German breads that I grew up eating and miss now that I live in America. I was hoping that someone could point me to a recipe for Krustenbrot (a very crust bread that we used to get early on Saturday mornings as it came out of the oven) and/or to a recipe for Specbrot (a chew bread with bacon in it).

Loking for recipes
I did a google search and found this recipe for the Krustenbrot bread. Do a google search and you should be able to find others and the recipe for the Specbrot bread.

I've seen this recipe
I've seen this recipe before. I'm not sure of it. The breads I had as a child didn't have caraway or anise. I suppose I can leave it out. Also, I'm not quite sure I follow their instructions thanks to the poor translation (a "hot tube"? I get that a grid is a cooling rack..)
